ANCA - IFA TITRES (ANTINEUTROPHIL CYTOPLASMIC ANTIBODIES )
- An ANCA (Anti-Neutrophilic Cytoplasmic Antibody) blood test is a screening test used to detect the presence of antibodies in the blood that can indicate the presence of an underlying autoimmune disease.
- The test looks for antibodies in the blood that target proteins found in the neutrophils, a type of white blood cell. These antibodies are present in autoimmune disorders such as Wegeners granulomatosis, microscopic polyangiitis, Churg-Strauss syndrome, and others.
- The test helps to diagnose these conditions as well as determine the severity of the disorder and monitor the effectiveness of treatment.
- The ANCA blood test is usually ordered when a patient is experiencing symptoms of an autoimmune disorder.
