ANCA - IFA TITRES (ANTINEUTROPHIL CYTOPLASMIC ANTIBODIES )

An ANCA (Anti-Neutrophilic Cytoplasmic Antibody) blood test is a screening test used to detect the presence of antibodies in the blood that can indicate the presence of an underlying autoimmune disease.
 
The test looks for antibodies in the blood that target proteins found in the neutrophils, a type of white blood cell. These antibodies are present in autoimmune disorders such as Wegeners granulomatosis, microscopic polyangiitis, Churg-Strauss syndrome, and others.
 
The test helps to diagnose these conditions as well as determine the severity of the disorder and monitor the effectiveness of treatment.
 
The ANCA blood test is usually ordered when a patient is experiencing symptoms of an autoimmune disorder.
